Trunk Bay

Trunk Bay

It is rumored that Trunk Bay is one of the Caribbean's most photographed beaches. But that's not all - it features an underwater self guided snorkel trail. Lifeguards are on duty daily. Facilities include a gift shop, snorkel rental, snack bar, showers, toilets, changing areas, telephones and a picnic pavilion. There is a small fee. Children under 16 are free, adults $4...all for a great cause! Picnic areas are wheelchair accessible.

Cinnamon Bay

Cinnamon Bay

About a mile long, Cinnamon Bay is the Park's longest beach. There is also a great campground area with tons of services available including showers, toilets, telephones, changing areas, charcoal grills, a restaurant, general store and beach shop. The camping facilities are great for die hard campers providing bare camp sites and tents or for the not - so - rustic camper, providing small cottages with beds and a kitchenette ( no refrigerators). There are also several wheelchair accessible campsites. The best part is your sleeping right next to the beach. Can you hear the waves?

Annaberg Sugar Mill (ruins)

Annaberg Sugar Mill (ruins)

This is where you'll find St. John's best - preserved examples of the island's cultural past during the colonial and post - emancipation era. Annaberg Sugar Mill was established in 1718 and visitors are still coming to see it! Self - guided and ranger guided tours are available, both require a short uphill walk to the site. There is a small fee for adults, $4, children under 16 are free!

Cruz Bay Visitor Center

Cruz Bay Visitor Center

Most everyone arrives via ferry into Cruz Bay. The visitor center is located downtown, just a few blocks from the public ferry dock. The visitor center offers brouchures, maps of all the areas, books and a selection of gift items. Wheelchair accesible.

Reef Bay Trail

Reef Bay Trail

This is a 2.2 mile trail from Centerline Road to the Reef Bay Valley sugar factory near Genti Beach. The trail descends about 927 feet and average time is between 3-5 hours. Get a ranger to guide you, which they will do several days a week ($15 per person, but oh so worth it and includes boat transportation). Because of limited space, advance reservations are required. Call 340/776-6201 to reserve your space.

Petroglyphs Trail

Petroglyphs Trail

Do I need to say more? Two different theories: they were done by the Amerindians, who once inhabited the island, and the other theory - African slaves of the island's colonial era are resonsible. Either way, nobody knows for sure what the mean! They are just really cool to look at. Not to mention, the carvings on the rocks are right next to a fresh water pool , so jump in. The trail is a spur that intercects with the Reef Bay Trail 1.6 miles from the trailhead on Centerline Road.

  Maho Bay
Got a lage group who wants to hang out on the beach all day? This is the perfect white sand beach area to do it. It has a large pavilion, but you have to get a permit from the Rangers in advance to use it. Roadside parking is limited, but gets you tot he beach quick.

  Hawksnest Bay
Hawksnest is a beautiful white sand beach located on St. John's north shore. Facilities include a large parking lot, two picnic pavilions, picnic tables, charcoal grils, toilets and changing areas. Picnic areas are wheelchair accessible.
